# Overview

Native token, supply, fee flow, and stake economics at a glance

QuantumWing's native asset is **QWING** (1 QWING = 10^18 Wei). Every native balance, gas fee, validator reward, and slashing penalty is denominated in QWING. Bridged Ethereum value enters the chain as **QWETH**, a wrapped ERC-20 representation of real ETH locked on Sepolia/mainnet — see [advanced-features/bridge.md](/quantumwing/advanced-features/bridge.md).

## Token roles

| Asset | Where it lives | Used for |
| ----- | --------------------- | ------------------------------------------ |
| QWING | Native, every account | Gas, transfers, staking, rewards, slashing |
| QWETH | QRC-20 contract       | Bridged ETH; tradable on QWSwap            |
| QUSD | DeFi primitive | Stablecoin collateralised by QWING / QWETH |
| QGEN | Native (alias) | Older docs may say "QGEN"; same as QWING |

## Supply model

QWING supply is uncapped. Issuance is bounded by the per-slot reward schedule (`blockchain/consensus/por/rewards.go`):

```go
RewardBlockProposal:  2.0   QWING per proposed block
RewardAttestation:    0.1   QWING per valid attestation
RewardRANDAOReveal:   0.05  QWING per RANDAO reveal
RewardSyncCommittee:  0.2   QWING per sync-committee signature
```

At a 12-second slot interval and 64 active validators, steady-state issuance is on the order of `~1M QWING / year` from proposals plus `~17M QWING / year` from attestations. Both numbers scale linearly with the active validator count and inversely with attestation participation gaps.

## Fee flow

The execution layer charges gas as in Ethereum:

```
totalCost = transferValue + (gasUsed × gasPrice)
```

Legacy single-`gasPrice` transactions: `100% of gasFee → block proposer`. This matches the "validators earn 0.21 QWING per 10k-tx block" metric quoted in the chain's README.

EIP-1559 (shipped, B-4): Type-2 transactions split `baseFee` (burned) + `priorityFee` (to proposer). Both transaction types are accepted in the same block. The relevant constants live in `blockchain/types/transaction.go` and the mempool routes priority fees correctly — see [transactions/eip1559.md](/quantumwing/transactions/eip1559.md).

Dilithium signature verification is **0 gas** by policy. The cost is borne by the validator's CPU budget, not the transaction sender.

## Stake economics

Validator stake is QWING-denominated. The minimum is 32 QWING (lowered from the Ethereum-equivalent 32 ETH for testnet ergonomics). Stake is held in the beacon registry and reduced on slashing.

```
ActiveValidator → can propose, can attest, earns rewards
BannedValidator → 0 rewards, stake frozen for ban duration
EvictedValidator → stake withdrawn after exit queue
```

Slashing penalties (`blockchain/consensus/por/slashing.go`):

```
double_proposal: -50% stake, 30-day ban
double_attest:   -25% stake,  7-day ban
surround_vote:   -25% stake,  7-day ban
invalid_block:   -10% stake,  1-day ban
invalid_vrf:     -15% stake,  3-day ban
downtime:         -5% stake,  no ban
missed_randao:    -1% stake,  no ban
bridge_fraud:   -100% stake,  365-day ban
```

See [slashing.md](/quantumwing/economics/slashing.md) for the offense-detection paths and [rewards.md](/quantumwing/economics/rewards.md) for distribution mechanics.

## Reading on-chain balances

```bash
# Native QWING balance, in Wei
curl http://localhost:8546/api/v1/execution/balance/0x...
# {"balance":"1000000000000000000000000"}   = 1,000,000 QWING
# Convert
balance_wei  / 10^18 = balance_qwing
balance_wei  / 10^9  = balance_gwei
```

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://quantumwing.gitbook.io/quantumwing/economics/overview.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
